Discovering Your True Values

Discovering Your True Values
Fullproof test for discovering your true values:

1) How you spend your elective money.
2) How you spend your elective time.
3) What you want for your children.
4) What you at willing to sacrifice other things for.

Notes:
#1 & 2 - "Elective" means "Extra" or "Surplus", like (for money) AFTER you pay your bills and debts.
#3 is the motivation behind your goals and present/future plans for your kids. (are you preparing them for college or the ministry/mission field?)
#4 - Sacrifice a meal to be on time for an appointment. Sacrifice a 2 parent home for a second income. Sacrifice tv for internet.

The test is not idealistic. You can think back to the last few weeks months or however long you desire to find your answers. This is a good way to determine what your true values are, and help you set better goals for the future. If you don't like the answers that you come up with from recent times, then you can begin by changing how you handle those for things. Be sure to experiment with different categories in your life, and compare them with each other.

What do you think of this test? Did you find out anything about yourself already? Leave a comment below and keep the conversation going.
